
Greeting cards and postcards are prohibited for receipt through the mail, as they have been found to often contain contraband. The intended recipient will not be notified. Third class mail (also known as “junk mail”) is unauthorized and will be destroyed without being logged. Packages and books are prohibited for receipt through the mail and will be returned unopened to sender. Photographs are not authorized unless photocopied onto plain paper Pictures with water colors, crayon, markers, etc. There is a limit of 4 pages/items per letter.ĭrawings must be made by pencil/colored pencil only. (Only one additional envelope may be included inside each piece of mail and it cannot have an adhesive stamp) The inside of the envelope cannot have markings. Envelopes must be plain white, not security. Letters must be written on plain or ruled white paper only. Material detailing instructions for military, police, correctional, or security tactics for riots, hostage negotiations, use of force situations, emergency drills, and similar. Threats or encouragement of bodily harm or revenge against inmates, staff, law enforcement or legal personnel, or any other person, or any material that creates an unsafe environment for the offenders or staff Ĩ. Written depictions or descriptions of sexual conduct that are obviously offensive and, taken as a whole, have as their dominant theme an appeal to the prurient interest ī. Lewd material is defined as material characterized by, or intended to excite crude sexual desire obscene.Ī. Lewd material may neither be sent nor received. Publications are defined as magazines, newspapers, periodicals, journals, and newsletters.

Prohibited publications will be returned to the sender and will be logged. Publications that contain material that is otherwise forbidden by this policy (e.g., lewd photographs or images, or that contain violent or sexual information), are prohibited. Publications that are not generally available to the public are prohibited. Publications that are not mailed directly from the publisher are prohibited.
